Evaluation of the impact of preventive maintenance system

on the safe operation of emerency power system of some
centers of Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization using
energy Tracking and Barrier Analysis method in 2023

Abstract
Background and Objectives
The preventive maintenance management system is to reduce breakdowns and increase the safety of electrical equipment in the operation process of medical centers and medical services. This survey was conducted with the aim of identifying and assessing the risk of hazards during the year 2023.

Materials and Methods
This study is descriptive and aims to investigate the performance of the preventive maintenance system in 15 bases belonging to 10 blood transfusion centers in Alborz, Kermanshah, Hamadan, Ilam, Yazd, Bandar Abbas, Sanandaj, Arak, Semnan and Mazandaran through the review of compiled checklists, periodical visit documents and the performance quality of the physical structure of diesel generators in the facility system were done through visual observation and questioning of 17 operators and officials of the installations department of these bases using the method of energy tracking and obstacle analysis, and was analyzed with SPSS21 software

Results
The results of this study showed that the establishment of the equipment maintenance system, despite the fact that more than 26.5% of these bases do not have experienced and trained technical forces, has been able to provide effective support for 86.4% of medical equipment and about 68.8% of facility equipment within the framework of defined standards and guidelines.

Conclusions 
The establishment of the preventive maintenance management system in these bases has been able to take on the role of identifying the risk factors in the operation process of the emergency power system with the aim of ensuring the safety of users, equipment and the activity structure of the bases.
