Abstract
Abstract Background and Objectives Recognizing people's attitudes has a pivotal role in the process of their attraction to voluntary blood donation. This study compares the effectiveness of three-fold Theory of Planned Behavior and two-fold Theory of Rational Action beliefs on voluntary blood donation among Tehran women. Materials and Methods The present research was descriptive-correlative. A group of 425 Tehran women was selected by stratified sampling method. The data were collected using a questionnaire based on TRA and TPB, and t-test and Chi-square statistical indexes were applied for the analysis and model fitness using LISREL software. Results Findings expressed an equal ability in both patterns to predict blood donation behavior. The significance index was obtained to be 0.34 (t = 5.83) for TRA, and 0.30 (t = 4.96) for TPB in the relationship between behavioral attitude and intention, respectively. This index was obtained to be 0.55 (t = 9.69) for TRA and 0.51 (t = 8.63) for the other pattern in the relationship between normative beliefs and intention. It was also obtained to be 0.14 (t = 2.42) in the relationship between perceived behavioral control and intention. The impact of normative ethics was greater than the impact of people's behavioral attitudes on their intention. Conclusions Behavioral and normative ethics were effective on people intention towards blood donation, and the utility of normative beliefs is more than the other type in this respect. Thus, the reinforcement of this belief through the mass media can be an appropriate technique to create a social value called "Blood Donation".

Abstract
Background and Objectives
Major beta-thalassemia is a hereditary hemoglobinopaty that is characterized by a genetic deficiency in the synthesis hemoglobin polypeptide chain. The aim is to determine endocrine disorders such as diabetes, hypothyroid, hypo-parathyroid, low growth hormone, hypogonadism and deranged glucose tolerance test and their relation with sexuality, age, ferritin measure and Desferal beginning age in Kurdistan province in 2013.
Materials and Methods
In this descriptive study, all patients with major thalassemia over 3 year of age with treatment record in Sanandaj Besat Hospital were enrolled. For all patients, tests of GTT, LH, FSH, FSH.T3, T4, TSH, PTH, Ferritin were conducted. The demographic information together with the beginning age of Desferal use were added to the questionnaire. Data were then analyzed by T-test, Kscore, linear regression and logistic regression in STATA-11 software.
Results
Out of 43 patients, 20 had hypogonadism, 17 had low growth hormone, 2 diabetes, 4 hypoparathyroid, 3 hypothyroid, and 4 deranged glucose tolerance test result. We also found a significant corrrelation between hypogonadism with age, ferritin measure and the beginning age of the Desferal use. The correlation between deranged glucose tolerance test with ferritin measure was significant. There were no significant correlations between other variables.
Conclusions
This study showed that the prevalence rate of endocrine disorder in patients with thalassemia being more than healthy people. Therefore, all patients with major beta thalassemia over 15 years of age should undergo considerable clinical and laboratory evaluation for endocrine gland.

Abstract
Background and Objectives
Post-partum is one of the common causes of maternal mortality. Massive obstetrics hemorrhage may occur due to several etiologies such as Placenta Accreta. Massive transfusion protocols for obstetrics can reduce mortality and morbidity rate.
Case
A 28 year old patient who was an elective candidate for second cesarean without any particular disease was under spinal anesthesia and gave birth to a healthy baby. But after 25 minutes from the onset of the operation, the patient suffered from a marked drop in blood pressure and decrease in consciousness. Due to hemorrhage shock od an estimated blood loss of nearly 3500cc, she was intubated and prescribed isotonic and hypertonic fluids, colloids and blood components. Her diagnosis was placentra accreta and to control hemorrhage, hysterectomy was done.
Conclusions
Preoperative suspension for Placenta Accreta abnormalities should alert the anesthesia provider to potential massive blood loss. Preoperative effective communication among all obstetric caregivers is imperative.

Abstract
Background and Objectives
Chelation therapy is essential for beta-thalassemia major. This study aims to determine the complications clinical and laboratory symptoms of monotherapy and combined treatment of iron chelators in beta-thalassemia major patients in Yasuj.
Materials and Methods
In this cross-sectional-descriptive-analytical study, 103 patients with beta-thalassemia major in Yasuj city were evaluated during 2021-2022. After collecting the demographic, clinical and laboratory information of the patients, the results were reported as mean ± standard deviation and percentage. The degree of statistical differences between ratios was calculated using the Kruskal-Wallis test.
Results
The average age of our patients was reported to be 24.74 ± 8.34 years. 54.4% (n = 56) of the study patients were men and 45.6% (n = 47) were women. The results of the present study showed that there was a statistically significant difference in mean ferritin among different study groups (p = 0.028). Patients treated with deferoxamine showed the highest mean serum ferritin (5925.5 ± 3397ng%) and patients who took deferoxamine together with deferiprone or deferasirox had a lower mean ferritin compared to deferoxamine alone (3348 ± 2560, 4269 ± 3322 ng%), respectively. Also, the present study showed that after taking iron removers, 47.6% of patients (n = 49) had no clinical complications and 52.4% (n = 54) had at least one complication.
Conclusions
Our results showed that Deferoxamine can have a great effect in reducing iron deposition and serum ferritin levels in combination with oral drugs.
