The aim of this research was to evaluate the response of hematological indices and the changes of iron and ferritin subsequent to 6 months of aerobic exercise. Materials and Methods In this semi-experimental study, 19 sedentary middle-aged women with the mean age of 42.2 ± 3.3 years and the mean weight of 64.0 ± 8.6 kg, were randomly divided into two groups: experimental and control. Experimental group underwent aerobic exercise for six months. Results Plt (p = 0.045) showed a significant increase (267636.3 ± 65966.3) and iron (p = 0.008) and Ferritin (p = 0.017) showed a significant decrease in the experimental group. The changes between groups in Plt (p = 0.033), iron (p = 0.015) and Ferritin (p = 0.026) were significant. Conclusions Increase in the number of platelets may indicate an increase in platelet aggregation and activation. Persons apt/suffering from cardiovascular diseases should perform exercises with low to moderate intensity in order to minimize the risk. M3 ER -
